Eggplant Seeds Ordered

I have finally finished all of our seed ordering for organic vegetable seeds.  As growers who practice organic growing techniques, we must source seed that is propagated organically.  If we seek three different sources of organic seed and fail to find the variety that we need, then we can buy non-organic seed as long as it is not treated.  Last year we only sourced one type of seed that was not organic and that is because I could not live without the Hakurei turnips. They were truly a big hit with everyone.

We utilize seed companies in the Northeast who grow seed under some of our same weather conditions, so we have a better chance of success.  We buy  the majority of our organic seed from High Mowing in Vermont, Johnny’s Selected Seeds and Fedco Seeds in Maine.  We fill in some gaps with organic seeds from Seed Savers Exchange in Iowa, Territorial Seed in Oregon and Seeds of Change in California.
